CURRENT AFFAIRS OF  29th NOVEMBER 2022

  1. 29 November is marked as the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People every year.   
  2. International Jaguar Day was celebrated on 29 November at National Zoological Park, New Delhi.  
  3. The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) came to an end at a ceremony held at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium near Panaji on 28 November, 2022. 
  4. Indian-origin German citizen, Gurdeep Singh Randhawa has been appointed to the Thuringia state Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party presidium in Germany.
  5. ‘Ikshak’ is the third of the four large Survey Vessels (SVL) Project, being built by GRSE/L&T for the Indian Navy was launched on 26 November, 2022 at Kattupalli, Chennai. 
  6. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi virtually launched portals for online reading of the Preamble and quiz on the Constitution of India. The portal was launched on the occasion of National Constitution Day.  
  7. R. K. Singh, Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy inaugurated REC’s CSR initiative on 28 November, 2022.  
  8. Ruturaj Gaikwad of Maharashtra hit a world record seven sixes in the 49th over Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final against Uttar Pradesh in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.  
  9. e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project (eGramSwaraj and AuditOnline) of Ministry of Panchayati Raj has won the GOLD AWARD under the category “Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering for Digital Transformation” of the National Awards for e-Governance.  
  10. India has decided to send a utility helicopter unit to the Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). Bangladesh and Pakistan, each, will also send an armed helicopter unit to this operation.  
  11. In a bid to ensure complete eradication of anaemia problem among women and children in Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched AMLAN- ‘Anaemia Mukta Lakhya Abhiyan’ in the state.  
  12. On 28 November, the United States (US) dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster announced that the Word of the Year for 2022 is ‘Gaslighting’.  
  13. The world’s largest active volcano erupted in Hawaii for the first time in four decades.
  14. The seventh edition of the Global Technology Summit is to be held till the 1st of December in New Delhi in a hybrid format. 
  15. India’s milk production has registered a monumental growth in the last eight years as it has increased by 83 Million Tonnes.  In 2013-14, the production was 138 Million Tonnes which increased to 221 Million Tonnes in 2021-22. 
  16. Preeti Sudan, a former Health Secretary, has been appointed as a member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on 28 November, 2022.
